Blah. This movie is really overrated. I don't get whats so funny about it. The whole thing was just so uneven. The comedy worked well in some places but a lot of the jokes fell embarrasingly flat. Watch the first 5 minutes. Then go to dinner instead. I'd stick with Talledega Nights and Anchorman over this anyday.

Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg has surprisingly good on screen chemistry. I really enjoyed this move that really understood what makes action pack cop movies great and poked perfect fun at it. I felt the jokes hit more than they missed.

I was very disappointed with this movie. I went in expecting to be entertained with humor, and this did not happen. From the very start, I got the feeling this was going to be just another Will Ferrell movie full of quick one-liners and lacking a solid plot or story. I found that to be the case throughout. Although there were some scenes that were humerous, they were few and far between and not funny enough to make up for the dragging plot. I was impressed with the performance of Mark Whalberg in his role. I felt he stepped out of his typical role and into a comedy very well. I found it somewhat refresshing to see him in this light. However, that was probably the only bright spot to this film.

A pretty funny movie. Ferrell and Wahlberg make a good comedic, odd couple team. Ferrell keeps his outrageousness in check so he can be a character to identify with, and Wahlberg uses his usual intensity to some funny moments. Pair that with an underdog story, a timely financial heist story, and some good supporting turns from Eva Mendes and Michael Keaton and you've got a pretty good movie.

Solid comedy with some hilarious moments, a few cool action set pieces, and an odd couple relationship between the two leads that works. Ferrel's quiet/timid clashes with Walhberg's angry/loud to great effect and creates some truly funny moments.
