Never has a horror icon and his corresponding franchise ever returned to the big screen in a more lifeless, less special way. 2010's "A Nightmare on Elm Street" is neither creative or scary. It doesn't even have Robert Englund back as Freddy.

What a terrible remake that kills what's so good in the 1984 film.

Again the people who rate genres they don't like anyways ugh..Well the scope on this one was a let down, they turned Freddy into a pedophile which he never was in the original. The original plot was Freddy was just a child/teen killer haunting your dreams and turning them into a living nightmare. Freddys daughter was taken from him after they found out he was a killer. Anyways without the pedophile storyline the movie wasn't too bad but Kellan Lutz couldn't pull off Robert Englund. The originals are still where it's at...

I've never been a big fan of the originals & I didnt see why a remake had to be done. This was an alright movie but it was exactly like watching Nightmare On Elm Street without the original Freddy Krueger. The only thing I can think of that would've made this movie as good as the original was bringing back Robert Englund.I did love the ending though..

I watch it not in plan. But i like it. A Nightmare On Elm Street is a Horror, genre i'm not a supporter. This movie scared me from start to finish (well, i don't really like watching killing scenes) and amazed me with the effects, especially the "dream" scenes ( i love the transitions, SO MUCH!). I think Samuel Bayer did a very good job, i would be his fan if he will not do several horror and thriller films. Nice to see those actors doing their roles, i can say that their acting are satisfying (Keep it up, though). The story is predictable ( as usual for horror films) with the "unfinished resolution". VERY GOOD PRODUCTION, (just want to highlight! =).. I might watch the sequel. =)

This movie was actually a good remake, in my opinion. I thought the story was nice and creepy, like the original, but I wasn't crazy about Jackie Earle Haley playing Freddy.

It could have been better ..but it could have been worse,Let's start out by saying im looking at this movie as A stand alone,Not comparing it to the original Im liked the makeup I liked some of the gore but the movie wasn't very good all the way up to the end then it had i's moments follwed by A pretty dumb ending it didnt live up to what I wanted it to be but it's better than alot of other horror remaks ..but really is that saying much? and before I forget Jackie earl Haley wasn't A bad freddy But Robert Englund is still THE Freddy Krugger

One of the worst remakes to come down the Hollywood pipeline in the past couple of years. It has brought the series back to a straight up horror routine, but it doesn't contain one scary thing in it. I don't understand how giving the entire movie a dark and depressing look and throwing in some poorly executed jump scares can pass for genuine fear and suspense. It also displeased me that they recycled so many iconic moments from the original film just to have them in there. That's pointless to do so. Haley is a good actor and can be creepy, but he is wasted here. The kills were so lame and they even terribly recreated the best one from the original. Another empty, pointless remake.
