A sorority prank gone wrong leads to a bloody murder spree in this slasher film featuring Rumer Willis, Audrina Patridge, and Carrie Fisher. It was supposed to be a practical joke, but no one was laughing after a girl in the prime of her life had been accidentally murdered. Desperate to go on with their lives and avoid taking responsibility for their actions, the surviving sisters and their male accomplice agree to dump the body and never speak of the incident again. This movie was a stupid horror flick with nothing to like in it, and is it just me or this movie reminds me of that film called i know what you did last summer.

Cassidy, Jessica, Ellie, Claire and Chugs pulls a prank on the cheating Garrett. Everything goes wrong when Megan accidentally gets murdered. After 8 months mysterious texts and videos were sent to the culprits of those who were part of the violent incident. The soundtrack was cool and some of the killings were unique. Its screenplay however falters despite an enticing start. Some of the artists were not convincing. Sorority Row tried to be like a mixture of Scream and Halloween with a lot of MTV like shots and coyness with the dialogue. A descent view for those who enjoy horror flicks about sorority sisters.

I should have known better, but I assumed this would be over-the-top, cheesy entertainment, but it sadly restrained itself! As a result, you just get a movie that's bad instead of so bad it's good. The plot is ridiculous, the twist ending is just stupid, the acting is (predictably) horrible (especially Rumor Willis, she is just awful), the charicatures of young people are totally one-dimensional (it would be an overstatement to call them characters)...just skip it and watch Prom Night 2 or something.

Out of all the slasher remakes in the past couple of years, this one actually gets most of it right. The filmmakers have taken one idea from the 'House on Sorority Row' and made a completely different film all together that plays just like an 80's slasher. It feels like one big homage to those golden years and that's the main reason why I liked it. Most flaws are easily overlooked by the fact that the film is meant to be plain fun.
