Artistic and unconventional, however "Bronson" doesn't really teach its audience as much about the infamous criminal as I would have liked.

Bronson follows the life of notorious prisoner Michael Gordon Peterson, who was re-named Charles Bronson by his fight promoter. Born into a respectable middle-class family, Peterson would nevertheless become one of the UK's most dangerous criminals, and is known for having spent almost his entire adult life in solitary confinement. Tom Hardy plays a scary and messed up person in this movie and the directing is superb in this movie with out a doubt. Nicolas Winding Refn always has he's characters a silent but deadly person in all of his films.

People need to check this out just to watch Tom Hardy's performance as Bronson. Refn almost had me hypnotized watching this movie.

Bronson is truly a biopic like no other. A man who seemingly lives and breathes violence but the movie does not celebrate this violence, instead presenting a warped individual played superbly by Tom Hardy. It's hard to connect with a character who spends most of the film getting beat or beating things. Unique, but hard to like.

An artful and exploitive piece about an infamous man I had never heard of. Hardy is supremely entertaining to watch and the narrative structure provides consistent black comedy. The strangest biopic I've ever seen.
