Very Bad

Awfull. Never have I been dissapointed as much as seeing this film. If you are scared watching this film you have not seen any proper horror films or lived reality also. Zombie films do fit a certain criteria yes but this film lacked anything that could make you jump or scared and the acting was horrible. Waste your time if it is a free show otherwise save your money. My wife after seeeing the acting of the reporter wanted her to die so did I. The movie made the premise of a disease that shut down the building . How many zombie films in thepast 5 years just say its a zombie film. Horrible writing for a screnplay trying to run on the tailcoats of other zombie movies, yes they made money on this film because the whole setting was in one building, get some originality.

Solid Horror

This movie genuinely scared me. It is comparable to “28 Days Later” and “28 Weeks Later” because of the zombie-like creatures that are fast and extremely menacing; “Cloverfield” comes to mind because the entire picture is seen through a hand-held camera. Despite the content of the film, without Jennifer Carpenter (”White Chicks,” “The Exorcism of Emily Rose,” “Dexter”), this movie probably would’ve failed. Providing a character that’s real, good-natured, and one of the boys (established during the amusing first fifteen minutes), we ultimately care about her when the creatures roam about the apartment complex. She really amazed me during the last few scenes because not only can she scream and look good doing it, I wanted to reach out into the screen and help …

Slowly but surely

Even though Quarantine starts up slow it does what it was suppose to do when it reaches maximum overdrive. The fear in everyone's eyes is just genuinely real. My only complaint was Jen Carpenter’s acting which were sometimes too over the top but then I guess it worked out just fine with all the mayhem going on around her. The pacing was slower than usual at the beginning you would think you'll fall asleep if you're not paying attention. Also the plot's quite murky which is a bit of a letdown because I for one would like to know what's going on. At the end of it all everything was just blurred and dark like the plot. And having that mystery element was probably the best thing that ever happened to this film. Overall if you like Resident Evil’ish type of movie with a brush of …

At least I saw a good preview

I assume the point of this movie is to make it feel like you are watching some piece of evidence of a terrible event. You see what the people on the video see, nothing more. The problem is if I'm watching this little home movie, I probably know a little bit about the event itself. I've probably heard about it or read about it somewhere. I wouldn't need character development, a plot, an ending, etc. It would just be a very eerie piece of the whole story. Instead, I don't feel anything. I don't feel sorry for anyone in the building. I don't feel angry with anyone on the outside. I don't care if anyone makes it out alive. I just sit there and wonder when it will end and hope I'm not disappointed. On the bright side, the preview for The Unborn looked pretty good.

Quarantine your money. This movie is diseased.

This movie just plain wasn't good. I found it more entertaining counting the number of people who checked what time it was through the first half of the movie. Note to the web adminitrators of filmcrave.com: You've filed this movie under the wrong genre, please file under "Horrible, Coma Inducing"... They are probably very close alphabetically so I can understand the mistake.

The shaky "reality" filming style Qauarantine tried to tackle is something I consider just as gutsy as filming in black and white nowadays. The director (John Dowdle) shows us just how easy it is to fail. The plot is never fully explained... if anything it's made more confusing. There was barely any character development. I wasn't even convinced that the characters cared about each other all that much. …

Quarantine this movie from the public

Beware of this movie. I admit it, I like the idea of this movie but it just missed the mark for me. I think I may even be generous giving this movie 1.5 stars. First off, as a horror it is complete failure. At no points during this movie did I jump, get tense or feel any emotions for the characters lives. A horror should instill fear in the audience, this just made me want to smack Jennifer Carpenter to get her to shut up. Don't get me wrong, her acting wasn't bad; it was actually really good. But it was too much of a good thing and by the end I didn't want any more of her crying and shaking.

The first person camera angle thing that I loved in Cloverfield, I hated in this movie. The reason it worked in Cloverfield was because the dialog and characters kept it a little light-hearted …

Get Down with This Sickness

This is a horror film that succeeds in all the right places, but doesn't manage to avoid the pit-traps of the genre. What starts off as a puff-piece news story about the night-shift at a local fire station turns into a ghastly ordeal of survival.

First off, the hand-held camera worked for me. Sure, you can call it a gimmick or a fad, but Quarantine manages to make some fresh headway (death by camera, anyone?) into the hand-held genre. Quarantine also succeeds by both handling the "gotcha" jump-out scares, and by keeping an overall feeling of dread and hopelessness throughout. Plus, the whole biological terror idea is one that seems plausible, more like 28 Days Later than just random zombies popping up and ruining your day.

It also doesn't go too overboard on the gore. There's …

Quarantine One of the Top Movies This Year.

SPETE - wrote on 10/19/2008

Quarantine was an amazing movie. When i was at the theater the whole audience was screaming after every moving thing in the dark. The movie was definitly not for the faint of heart though it was incredibly violent and gruesome, but some of the most fun i have had in a long time. I have not seen a scary in a long time, but i am glad i went to this one. Probably one of the best movies this year. Dont go see it though if you want a plot rich movie, because you wont find it here. But if you like the whole slasher type movie or even a dawn of the dead type movie this is for you. If you are thinking about not seeing this movie beacause of the whole camera thing like in Cloverfield, then you would really be missing out on this. If anything the camera made it all the more scary by not …
