I usually hate films that are shot in first person because they make me sick most of the time, but with this film it's different. It is different. The camera seem to be more in focus and this film is better directed then the other first person films like "The Blair Witch Project."

Romero's weakest zombie film. There was potential here with the premise. That is squandered by wrongful execution of a 'found footage' narrative and a dumbed down message fed to us by bad narration. The kills are still cool and it's not boring. Just many weird filmmaking mistakes for the attempted sub-genre.

Although I can't rank this with the classic Romero, Diary of the Dead still manages to provide social commentary (running this time) with good old zombie gruesomeness. This is the YouTube generation's zombie film, though technically it takes place first (apparently this is a launching point for a new dead franchise). I was happy that the camera wasn't so distracting (as say in Cloverfield). I found that both good and bad - it feels more like a real movie, but kind of takes away from the whole shot-by-hand perspective it's going for. It may not be Romero's best, but I think it's a good starting point for a new direction. I'm interested to see what he does next.

Pretty much like all the other zombie movies Romero has made if you liked them you'll like this. Except this time there is a running voice over explaining the social commentary and satire so there is no need to think at all, just sit back and enjoy the violence which is the films saving grace.
