Amy Adams steals the show but it's still a sweet and heartwarming screwball comedy.

What a charming movie to just kick back and relax to. This kind of movie reminds me of "The Importance of Being Earnest" or early or revised Restoration plays of the 1700s. I loved loved LOVED Amy Adams in this movie, and Frances McDormand is magical at what she does. The story is definitely one that is universal, where the higher class is under scrutiny by one who wants desperately to be in it. I really loved this movie. Its brilliant.

This is a really well done movie based on a really fantastic book. The story is both touching and funny, which is very difficult to pull off. The acting is great. Its hard to picture anyone but Frances McDormand as MissPettigrew and Amy Adams is perfect as the ditsy but lovable lead. Overall, just a really great movie.

A sprightly, energetic screwball variation on Cinderella, aided by another fabulous, bubbly performance from Amy Adams; Frances McDormand's depressing character weighs down a lot of the enjoyment, but it has heart, humor and pizzazz. Final Grade: B

this movie wasn't half bad. amy adams does an amazing job with the role of Delicia. this movie is almost like a jeeves and wooster only with women. if you like movies with scandal then i highly suggest this one.

While it may look like a fairy tale of sorts on the outside there is an underlying darkness throughout, loneliness, love, belonging and a sense of staying true to yourself are just some of the themes explored. Amy Adams shines as usual bring her passion to the screen, reminded me a lot of her Enchanted role, she and veteran Frances McDormand makes an amazing on screen team playing off each other making their scenes a joy to watch. Films like these are usually swept under the rug and forgotten in favor of a more serious affair, but if they were that easy to make everyone would be doing it.
