Action: 3 / 3, Comedy: 0 / 2, Good vs Evil: 0.5 / 1, Love/Sex: 0 / 1, Special Effects: 1 / 1, Plot: 0 / 1, Music: 0 / 1 = 4 / 10 or 40%, which is 1 /4 stars. A huge step down for the franchise and it fails to carry through on the brillaint developments of part 2. The weak story, sequences, and characters are reminscent of what Schumaker did to Batman.

Enjoyed this one too. Some of the action was too much but still thought it was a good film.

Jean Grey has always been a good, buttoned-down, professional woman, secure in her normative marriage and teaching job. But when catastrophe unleashes the wild, hungry, sexual side of her nature, the entire world is threatened by her power. Can the civilizing influence of Professor X tame and control her? Will the feral manliness of Wolverine prove her match? Or is she, as Magneto tells her, perfect? Oh, yes -- this is also a movie about super powers, the social impulse to "cure" abnormalities, and the rhetoric of control. X3 scores points for confronting authority -- and loses them for assimulating with the National Symbolic and participating in a patriotic paramnesia.

When I heard Brett Ratner was directing the third X-Men, I had little hope. Interesting enough, I was suprised how well it turned out. A little heavy on the action side and less on plot, it none-the-less gets the job done.
