The comedy is only kind of so-so, but what's really great about this film is seeing early debuts by the likes of Bradley Cooper, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Banks and Amy Poehler. Love the random making out, the hour in town, the baseball team just giving up, the waterfall rescue that's never shown and the Vietnam vet training montage.

While it's kind of fun, for about five minutes, to see big stars like Amy Poehler, Bradley Cooper, and Paul Rudd pop up in supporting roles in one of their first films, the movie is hit and miss at best. Some of the weird humor works well because it is so insanely odd, but a lot of the scenes felt like they would have worked better in a sketch comedy than an actual film. I don't really get the film's cult appeal, as it's really a disjointed mess that only works, occasionally, because of its cast's inherent comic skill.

It's not every second painfully hilarious like THE HANGOVER, but it has some of the best one-liners I've ever heard. The cast is incredible and even though I've never really been to real summer camp for more than a week, I can tell that it is a dead-on parody of a summer Jew camp. The good kind of Jew Camp, not the...bad kind. What else can I say? At times it gets a little boring and plotless. I think it loses focus about 3/4 of the way through. But it's the perfect movie for a silly summer night with some silly friends and some silly booze/weed/vicodin/any other vice you may choose.

This movie was freakin' funny - especially their day in town! - not to mention the hot gay sex in the shed, or the hippie marriage down by the river, or the budding romance between david hyde pierce and janeanne garofalo. Paul Rudd is especially hilarious as a bad attitude counselor and hot guy who dumps kids in the woods when they see him do anything wrong. The ending is weak and kind of drags, but the rest is great.
