I am a nerd for Presidental movies. I know weird. I thought that this movie was really good and I really like the concept of telling the story from several vantage points. This movie had a enough action to keep your attention and when it was over I didn't feel I had been in the theater as long as I had. This movie had a great cast and interesting twist.

"Vantage Point", is a very unique, interesting, and fun film to watch. It does have one annoying aspect to it though. The repeating of the same scenes, but different people's point of view, does get very repetetive, but I got used to it after awhile, and enjoyed it.

An interesting take on your typical, conspiracy-political thriller. Several characters are present at a political summit where an assasination attempt is made on the president. For the first hour of the film, we see the same 20 minutes over and over, but from different perspectives. These include a news director, a secret service agent, a tourist, the president, and a suspect. The remaining 30 minutes show the satisfying conclusion, which brings all the characters together. Good performances - especially Quaid, who manages to elevate anything he's in.

These high concept, low delivery movies are becoming typical nowadays. This film misfires because the story just isn't that interesting and having it told 20 different times doesn't help the situation. Everyone is criminally underused, whats the point of having such an awesome cast if all that ends up happening is them running around looking befuddled for their 15 minutes of screen time. The action scenes are also typical and nothing special and if you're even passably paying attention the whole whodunit is obvious within the first 10 minutes. I suspect everyone involved with the production was just cashing a paycheck.
