The story and action sequences are just solid enough to counterbalance the fact that the free-spinning "Thunderball" doesn't quite equal the sum of its parts.

Coming off the success of 'Goldfinger', EON Productions were evidently intent on making lightning strike twice by loading this film with more gadgets, girls, and nefarious villains than any Bond outing before it. What resulted was a product that didn't quite possess 'Goldfinger's' spark and had a bit of a pacing problem. Nevertheless, this is a fine production with some sumptuous cinematography (the underwater scenes are breathtaking), good performances, and that ineffable charm of the 60's Bond movie.

Fourth film out and still going strong. The underwater work was great, for the time and who can't forget the jet-pack?

May not be my favorite Bond, but it's a solid entry and a decent part of the series.
