X2 X-Men United review

Viewing a film the second time around makes you appreciate the beauty and accuracy of how good the film was. Direction was creative and authentic. Definitely in the same class of Avengers and TDK (DC) for engaging superhero films. Kurt Wagner aka. Nightcrawler (Alan Cumming) was manipulated by Col. Stryker (Brian Cox) to attack the President. Mystique (Rebecca Romijn-Stamos) gains information about Magneto's (Ian McKellen) cell. The X-Men do their best to shelter youthful mutants. Wolverine Rogue, Rogue, her boyfriend Iceman, Cyclops, Storm, and Jean Grey do their best to save humans. The 2-disc DVD provided more than hours of bonus features divulging the impact/history of X-Men, settings, costumes, make-up, interviews and special effects. The dark enticing plot, realistic stunning visual effects, innovative make-up, sufficient character development, solid performances, great action sequences make this the best of the series and one of the best well crafted superhero flicks. It likewise exhibits themes of acceptance, abuse of powers, identity, slight racism and even love. Best quotes from the movie: Nightcrawler - "Because most people will never know anything beyond what they see with their own two eyes." Jean Gray - "But every few hundred millennia, evolution leaps forward." Prof. X - "Sharing has never been humanity's defining attribute." Brilliant from the fabulous start to its mysterious ending with the symbol of Phoenix on the lake. More characters than X-Men, not as depressing as X-Men: The Last Stand, X2 is a treat for comic fanatics, non-comic readers, enjoy special effects, mutants/people with special powers battling each other, and a good action fantasy picture.
