Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

The perfect trilogy part II
TheWolf - wrote on 07/30/07

The second in the Trilogy, The Two Towers, is a masterpiece in the Adventure Fantasy category. Starting where the Fellowship left off, Frodo and Sam are on their own now, and being followed relentlessly by Golum. The rest of the now disbanded fellowship is moving their way to help amass more warriors for their cause and to find aid in preparing to move towards Mordor.
The darkest of the 3 movies this sequel is one of the most incredible combinations of action, adventure, and fantasy. You can't help be get nervous a number of times through out the movie. Andy Sirkus as Golum was amazing, while people know that he did the voice acting for the character many people don't realize that he had to do some amazing physical acting as well. He was motion captured for the movie meaning that he was wearing a special suit that tracked all of his movements and his actions, so while he wasn't always on the actual set, and many of the actions and reactions by the rest of the cast were played off to something that wasn't really there, he did have to throw himself around a lot on the indoor capture studio in order to make the motions of Golum seem realistic.
The one thing that I definitely recommend to anyone interested in watching this Trilogy, to those that are new to the experience and to those that have seen it before, GET THE DIRECTORS CUT!!!!!! Some people though the movies were long already each nearly reaching 3 hours. Each movie in the directors cut has an extra 35 - 45 minutes of footage that changes many of the scenes of the film to have a completely different feel, and make the experience so much stronger! After having watched the directors versions I realized that there was not reason ever to watch the theatrical release again.
