Kevin Smith is a genius. He is a great director with the enthusiasm of a comic book junkie kid. He knows how to make things interesting, and how far across the line he can go before anyone complains. The cast is an allstar line up that anyone would be lucky to have one or two in a few films, but for him to get all of these people lined up for 1 film is just outstanding. Teaming up Affleck and Damon together again is great because they haven't been doing anything together since Good Will Hunting. Chris Rock is always funny, Alan Rickman is once again brilliant, former pro skater Jason Lee can pull off any part that Smith throws at him and it does it with style. Not to mention having George Carlin playing the Cardinal, which is hilarious because of his real life views on organized religion.
I can't imagine how different things would have been if Smith had gone with his first choice for Bethany and used Janeane Garofalo. Even though now he says that he will never hire Linda Fiorentino for any role ever again because she was just far too difficult to work with.
Definitely one worth seeing.
