Captain America (1990)

Zero budget effort about iconic Marvel hero

Poorly directed and laughably plotted superhero movie that would had been forgotten if not for its weird moments. Ronny Cox is arguably a more proactive superhero hero than the actual Captain America in the movie. And he's playing a hostage!
The guy playing Red Skull seems like a rip-off of Jack Napier from Batman (1989). Right down to wearing makeup in public to look more human. He seems like he's trying to be menacing. But his sinister performance does not really match the campy tone for the rest of the film.
The action scenes are badly handled. And it is sad when Captain friggin America is on the losing end of most of them. There are a lot of quick cuts and odd jumps thrown in to hide the stuntmen.
It is weird how good the pedigree is for such a bad movie. Aside from Ronny Cox, we also have Ned Beatty, Darren McGavin, and even Melinda Dillon if briefly.
Their mere presence much have cost a pretty penny because the rest of the budget could not had been that much. This is as inept as the 1994 adaptation of the Fantastic Four. But it is less entertaining and more irritating.
