Solid mystery thriller about a disgraced London cop turned private eye who's accused of murdering his wife and a wealthy client. It's evident the movie's working on a budget but they use it to their effectiveness. It's the rare movie where the side character (played by Kenneth Cranham) is the real hero of the film.
