A Murder of Crows

Cuba Gooding Jr. stars in this tacky potboiler of a crime drama which does have an interesting premise.
Suppose a lawyer who knows better but nevertheless plagiarizes a dying man’s book. That’s an excellent setup for a thoughtful character study and explore a morally gray situation of pure unadulterated opportunism.
Except the movie switches into Fugitive mode with Cuba replacing Harrison Ford. He’s okay but not quite convincing as an action guy. Tom Berenger is pretty solid playing the cop. Ashley Laurence is a highlight as a self serving publicist.
It’s pretty hokey and honestly feels like they cut out twenty extra minutes because major characters come and go away and are not seen again.
