What I loved about this movie most was Ron Howard's sense of electrifying suspense, yet he maintains control in a very Ron Howard-esque way. Tommy Lee Jones is not my favorite actor in the world, yet I believed him in this role, and everything Cate Blanchett does is gold. Evan Rachel Wood was entirely too believable in this role [she's very good despite who she's dating]. The intensity of the fights, the possessions, and all were welcomed and uncomfortable. This movie worked. It just did.
