Gets off to a rocky start, but once the action on Mars hits it does pick up. The film is epic in size and effects. The CG alien creatures look believable and the action scenes are decent. There are issues with character, plot, and pacing. Nothing ever feels exciting, or worth caring about. I give it technical praise and would recommend it just for the little bit of spectacle it provides.
