The tagline for the movie: "The most talked about movie of the year is one that no one's actually seen" And yet, a year later, nobody is talking about it besides me. Betty Gilpin is good though.

So much hay was made out of this movie about liberals hunting conservative before it came out - then was delayed and was finally quietly released in the early days of the Covid era to little fanfare. Truth is, the liberals are treated as badly (if not worse) than the conservative characters (most of whom, played by fairly well-known actors are killed off in the first 15 minutes of the film). The film turns into a typical revenge "I Spit On Your Politics" thriller - but the final fight scene (between Betty Gilpin and Hilary Swank) is some killer choreography. Otherwise a forgettable slasher satire that sounded more exciting than it ended up being.

Even handed blend of splatter gore, hard hitting action, and social commentary. Betty Gilpin is excellent as the stoic tough heroine being chased by sadistic socialites in a deadly cat-and-mouse game.

Let’s just hope that not every violent film suffers the same fate, as the number of mass murders in the U.S., according to the database of the news agency AP, USA Today and Northeastern University, is shockingly high. In 2019, they counted 41 such massacres. Those are a huge number of incidents that can cause releases to be postponed. I suggest they restrict the release of violent video games, new material from well-known music bands that use a rougher music style and …
