Denzel Washington stars as (surprise, surprise) Denzel Washington in a ludicrous supernatural thriller which could have been excellent if it had grown a sense of humour. Unfortunately the entire cast, Denzel in particular, are laughably po-faced about the whole thing. A film John Carpenter SHOULD have made.

Each time I watch this, it seems to get better and better. It's a good mystery that leads to one of my favorite kind of twist endings. Pretty dark, but that's the way I like things.

With a tense pace that keeps you guessing and keeps things moving along, Fallen is not your typical suspense thriller. With it's religious and metaphysical overtones, it really brings an original angle into this tired genre. With an unusual soundtrack laying down a weird vibe, this is a film that you should look into if you haven't seen it already. The script of this film is fantastic. It begins in the classic 3 act structure whereby act 1 introduces you to the …

"John" (Denzel Washington) is a veteran police detective who is after the most powerful, and most dangerous criminal he could ever imagine -- a "demon" who can transfer itself from one person to another by a simple touch.

The "demon" has targeted "John" after the latest body it inhabited was killed in a gas chamber for multiple murders. And "John" was the one who brought him, and the "demon" that inhabits him, in.

The "demon" taunts "John" by possessing the bodies of people who "John" either happens to come across or is in his personal life. It also taunts him with riddles it leaves behind at murder scenes. And the only way "John" can identify the demon is by a song from the 1960's it makes those it inhabits hum, whistle or sing.

One of the most unique effects in this entire …
