Plot: Bergman's story revolves around a small-town piano teacher, Ingeborg, raising her foster daughter Nelly the best she can. When she turns 18, Nelly is surprised when her "Aunt" Jenny - in actuality her mother, shows up with the intent of taking her to the city. With Ingeborg ailing and nearing death, and 30-year-old Ulf in love with Nelly (who considers him too old) - she finds herself drawn to Jack, a young man - who happens to be her mother's lover. -- Chris Kavan
