I have to go against the stream here I feel and claim that the american version was actually better than this one. There was nothing wrong with the story and the acting performance. I didn't like the directing very much. In my opinion this took way to long to get to the point. And the special effects really weren't that good. In this movie silence was not your friend. The story in the movie is good, as it goes into the company of the technologial horror movies however the pace was way to slow for me, and the payoff quite frankly wasn't worth the long tedious wait. Perhaps I am getting jaded, but this wasn't particluary scary nor was it provoking. Good movie to watch if you got trouble sleeping though.

Pulse oozes with creative irony (technology is killing Japan? What?!?) and jittery "What-the-fucks?!?" all the way through. Similar films have been seen and poorly processed, but the viewer wasn't tense like a wound coil through it. When one of the ghosts, living dead, or whatever the hell they are even moves it sends chills. When was the last time a ballet kick made you check the hallways? Don't watch this one alone!

Not a bad little Japanese horror flick, it's very creepy and disturbing. This is an apocalyptic horror movie about loneliness and I will confess to being totally lost sometimes. I suppose a second watch might reveal more to me. I have seen the American remake of Pulse, and I say this verison is way better and will certainly make up for that movie's sorry excuse as a horror movie.

Much more eerie and creepy than the hollow remake, the original Kairo will leave you chilled and unnerved. The only downside is how dated the film feels from its 2001 original release date. But as horror, it makes the grade.
