There's a heartwarming core to this comedy that makes it ultimately satisfying. Ryan Reynolds looks unrealistic and ridiculous in a fatsuit, but some of the film's inconsistencies are forgiven because it's so damn funny. Anna Faris as a dense music starlet steals every single scene she is in.

A mediocre rom-com story buried beneath a zany farce. The over-the-top comedy worked for me and I laughed consistently. The fact that the entire film was goofy in tone and it never attempted genuine sentimentality, just made me enjoy it more.

The love story and characters are not very credible, but the laughs are very consistent: a best friend hug that looks like humping, Ana Faris eating toothpaste, the way Ryan Reynolds lands on the ice when his gurney slides down a hill and when Amy Smart asks what's on Reynold's mind in bed and his response. Final Grade: B-
