A movie about footballing that feels like a transplanted British version of Fight Club. The drama is brutal and real and Elijah Wood is actually convincing in an unexpected, against-type role. A little-known indie gem.

before seeing this film all my knowledge of soccer came from Bend it Like Beckham. Needless to say this is an entirely different kind of film. First of all very little of it concerns soccer. It's really about the rabid fans. The cast is great. Only real trouble is I had to watch it with the subtitles on, otherwise I couldn't understand them. (common language my foot)

Green Street Hooligans provides an inside look into the world of English football firms and Matt's (Elijah Wood) exploration of the GSE. The film is very interesting and action-packed, with solid performances. Overall, an interesting look into the nature of violence and how it changes us, as well as a helpful guide to firm slang.

A gritty drama that shows the natural born violence in men as an innocent is changed from meek to deadly. Final Grade: B

A great story! I almost care about soccer from watching this movie. The raw style of camera work really works for a film that is not supposed to be 100% refined and polished. The comradely and honor that these friends share is truly the best part of the film.
