A tired remake that, aside from a few intense action scenes, really doesn't elicit any kind of emotion. Bruce Willis, as this point, is just going through the motions. It also wastes the talents of Vincent D'Onofrio and Dean Norris, who are disposable characters with little to do here. Eli Roth is a competent director, but this is a mediocre mess.

Eli Roth's "Death Wish" is just as shallow as the original, while also being less distinguished and more boring.

A dull and ugly revenge fantasy lacking in imagination. Director Eli Roth brings a few good ideas for the death scenes, given his background as a horror film director. But Bruce Willis looks as bored as the audience does.
