The title sounds promising, but "The Secret Life of Pets" offers little more than a generic, overused premise and a loud antics-filled story.

Charming, but I was expecting better. Kevin Hart was the standout as the psychotic "kill all humans" bunny with Jenny Slate a close second as the chipper (but don't get her angry) Gidget. Heck, even Dana Carvey has a mild comeback as an elderly wheelchair-bound hound. Overall it was enjoyable, but nothing stands out to make this a classic.

I will admit I am a big kid and I loved this movie myself it was so much fun to see what happens when you leave your pets home alone having 7 cats of my own this really spoke to me I have to say however that I don't think that it is a good idea to take extremely young kids to see this due to the peril the pets get into threwout the movie it is danger galore and sensitive children may want to wait for the blue ray and watch it at home while cuddled during the, scary parts, and one more thing I loved gidget she was just a little firecracker and her spunk was awesome to see loved her go get a copy of the movie especially if you have pets this is a sweet and hilarious little flick for the entire family

Sadly, not as charming as it appeared in the promotional campaign... The characters and animation had potential, but after a good start the movie got devoured by an endless action sequence that felt busy but utterly pointless.

The Secret Life of Pets is the bastard child of Toy Story but with animals as replacement. There's nothing new, creative or original about this movie. It's not bad, but it's not good. If you want to watch the movie just for the animation or the cute pets, then that's fine. But hey, at least there's no Minions in this so that's good.
