Obviously, not an original concept for the treatment and story wise. If the filmmaker wanted to make a horror story using footage, might as well go all out and be consistent. How come the video camera adjusts its focus by itself?! Also, I felt like the movie can stand without opening and the closing scenes, simply unnecessary. However, I like the two kids!

A poor attempt at yet another found footage style horror movie. The movie was cheesy, no scary moments at all.

After suffering through the decline of the career of M. Night Shyamalan (The Happening, The Last Airbender, After Earth) I had pretty much given up on the director. But The Visit is a return to form. Even if you are sick to death of found-footage horror, this is a keeper. Even if you figure out the twist (because, of course there is) that doesn't detract from teh overall sense of unease you get as things escalate and the grandparents become more and more unhinged. I don't know if Shyamalan will ever reach the heights he once achieved, but at least this is a step in the right direction.
