A change of pace from his blockbusters and action films, Jon Favreau directs and stars in this funny comedy-drama about a burnt out culinary maestro who reopens a food truck. Sofia Vergara plays his understanding ex-wife while John Leguizamo plays his comical assistant.

The movie is an awesome feel good movie. I rented because I was curious, not having seen anything about the film, after I watched I returned it and went to the story to buy a copy for myself. I love how it modern and has a real life quality to it.

The film takes a pseudopredictable story and spices it up with a slew of interesting characters. Great soundtrack, great laughs, tugs at the heart strings without being cheesy. Would watch again.

'Chef' may have a predictable story, but it makes up for that by being an overall fun watch. The characters are sweet and the actors are all great. The movie really gets going after it's long first act. This is when the father/son relationship becomes the center. It's a real bonding experience, which comes with a cup of natural comedy and a dash of deserved endearment. Speaking of measurements, the great amount of amazing looking food is my favorite aspect of the entire film. Watching all of the deliciousness being prepared makes one salivate to the extreme. I would brand it 'food porn'. 'Chef' is a Sunday matinee type flick that will leave you with good feelings and a hungry stomach.
