The characters feel real and don't react the way you'd expect them to, and that gives the movie edge. While not the most impressive of Joseph Gordon-Levitt's films, his character is probably my favorite of all of his roles, and he and Scarlett Johansson have excellent chemistry.

As a person who normally steers clear of anything even remotely resembling a "romantic comedy" - I was still interested in Don Jon. Mainly, I wanted to see if Joseph Gordon-Levitt could direct and, I have to say, he did a standup job. Also, having Scarlett Johansson as the co-lead didn't hurt any. This is really a story about connection - not necessarily love - as Don Jon never finds it hard to get with a woman, but finds porn so much better - until he meets someone who changes his view. A fantastic debut for Gordon-Levitt.

Jon sure loves porn. Okay if you wife would not shut up about you watching porn then show them this movie and they will understand. Joseph Gordon Levitt is a brilliant director and actor and I see a good future for him with movies.
