Although a fan of this franchise, i was a little dissapointed by the 'gore' down, meaning their was way less gore this time. Ok im a gore hound when it comes to horror films, the gorier the better, which is why i love these films was the gore content was huge and the storyline original however i think the coolness of them died when Eli Roth turned over the director's chair to Scott Spiegel. Now don't get me wrong when i say all this as Spiegel didnt do too bad a job with the 3rd instalment however i went through this film feeling the series has lost it's edge or something along those lines?

I would only recommend this to people who watched the original films, and only under the assumption you're really bored. There's nothing new here - other than the setting moving from backwards European hostel to VEGAS BABY! - people die, they throw in a twist or two, it ends. Nothing more, nothing less.

Not as bad as the usual straight to dvd titles. It doesn't have the same tension or great gore f/x of the first two 'Hostel' films, but it does offer up a fresh story with many twists (all of which I didn't see coming). It may be a downgrade in presentation, but not in quality. Worth a rent for anyone who liked the previous films.
