Twisted, layered, and filmed with a signature eye for beauty, "The Skin I Live In" is Pedro Almodóvar's fusion of thriller and melodrama, which is something he's proven he can do quite well.

I think this movie could be hard if you are not open mind. Is a controversial with different morality, showing a desperate man taking advantage to his misfortune to improve his business and full his deep hole. But the victim never forgot who he was, with patience and good plan he could get free, but totally different. Impressive actors performance!

This is a sick one. Pedro Almodovar's The Skin I Live In is a unique, oddly compelling movie. It's a revenge film that takes revenge to a different level. A strange level. Antonio Banderas and the rest of the cast all do fantastic jobs portraying each of their characters, and Almodovar serves them well with a good script and a stylistic direction. The film didn't quite grab me emotionally, but it was fun to watch a movie that dives deep into dark and twisted grounds. It's undeniably messed up, it's very dark, it occasionally gets under your skin (see what I did, there?), and it's for sure one of the better films of 2011. It's terrifically entertaining, and it's sticking with me. 3/4

This film is hard to classify, as it has elements from different genres. The story is slightly bizarre and dark, but with an unsettling vibe that is borderline horror. However, it's presented as a drama, with emotional situations and some erotic behavior. This only makes it's twisted revelation all the more strange and shocking. The end result is a surprisingly good film.

holy shit this is sick; also a bit inacurate. i mean no way that gorgeous woman could've once been a man. what about her voice, feminine legs or long neck?
