"Mr. Popper's Penguins" is a form of abuse. It not only captures none of the whimsy of the book, but also completely misuses Jim Carrey's comedic gifts by making him a part of something even Rob Schneider would probably reject.

My kid loves it. I find it a run of the mill movie.
