This action-packed remake of the John Carpenter classic tells the tale of an under-manned Detroit police precinct on its last day of operation that finds itself under siege by a ruthless force that will not stop. This movie has a awesome cast and the scenes with the characters getting out of danger and almost getting killed which got my on the edge of my seat.

This remake is more of your standard action film. A so-so attempt to modernize the original cult favorite by John Carpenter.

It wasn't bad for what it was, but then again it wasn't all that. Not what I expected when i set down in the theater. I was looking for more action, less drama. The gun play wasn't too bad. Ethan Hawke and Laurence Fishburne did play well together in this one, hopefully we will see them again

A busy remake with plentiful amounts of skilled tension, but eventually it succumbs to generic action nonsense, arbitrary plot twists and the following cliches: the "forgotten and convenient" escape tunnel, the retiring cop, the minority villains and a ringleader with no emotion. It's a mixed bag, and definitely not as good as John Carpenter's original film. Final Grade: C+

I had no real problem with this film, but I wasn't impressed either. It's a good action film with plenty of gun play, a decent plot and even some attempt at character development, but it's just enough to keep it mildly interesting.
