A fitful look at a reform school for girls, featuring good work by the young actresses, though the villany by matron Grace Coppin and superindentent Cecil Clovelly is largely heavy-handed and Paul Henreid is a rather dull lead. Final Grade: C+

My expectations for this film were high, because I thoroughly enjoyed Bernard Vorhaus' The Amazing Dr. X aka The Spiritualist. Really, this film is a head-scratcher. The plot is ridiculous and I would find it hard for the audience to sympathize with any of the girl characters.
