The persevering teacher and student story of 2 of the most inspiring young women in history. "The Miracle Worker" is known to most, but isn't fully appreciated until it has been seen.

Great drama about how Helen Keller and her stalwart teacher (Bancroft) overcame her debilitating condition. As Annie Sullivan, Anne Bancroft is easy to identify with as she is given a monumental task and it can overwhelm her and her ward at any moment. Often emotional and well directed, both the movie and the real-life story that inspired it are proof of the unyielding power of perseverance against the limitations of the human condition.

This is an inspiring film that features some genuinely great acting, particularly from the actress playing Helen Keller. Hits at the right heartstrings without seeming shmaltzy.

An excellent adaptation of the Miracle Worker play. Every scene just about is interesting to watch. The story works out throughout and the tale is incredibly interesting. The two main performances are perfect in their roles and their fights are just great to watch. There are few of the scenes involving Annie Sullivan's past that do not work perfectly but everything else does actually. This is true story that works well, and never fails from being stuffy or anything else.
