This reviewer enjoys sci-fi and time travel related movies. This is one of the few cases wherein a film doesn't deliver the goods. A kid who doesn't wish to go home, midgets roaming around, exploding parents, coy soundtrack, horrendous acting, dated special effects and just too idiotic instead of being funny. Humor was forced and drab. A poor version of The Princess Bride in all aspects. This would have been better if it were animated, since everybody felt cartoonish. Dialogues were childish and Connery just wasted and under utilized here. Too dark for kids and too ludicrous for adults. Time Bandits tries to be a comedy but is more of a fantasy that ventures into different eras and a pointless plot. This film cements how this critic loathes the director's efforts/intent.
