Extremely controversial during its original release, this holiday themed slasher will probably extinguish any younger viewers' innocence in regards to Santa Claus. Or maybe Christmas in general. The first act is actually pretty interesting if exploitative as we see young Billy Chapman witness his parents' murder and his psychological torment at the hands of a cruel orphanage. But the second half of the movie is scattershot after the buildup. It is a short movie so they probably were more focused on the gore and bloodshed. Both of which is aplenty once Billy goes nuts. Gilmer McCormick is the closest to a decent human being in the supporting cast as a nun sympathetic to Billy's initial plight. Before the murder spree anyway.

Banned in some states, this cult classic follows a boy who witnesses his parents get murdered by a man wearing a Santa suit. Years later Billy cracks up and goes on a gory killing spree. Not the first 'killer Santa' movie-that honor goes to 'To All A Goodnight-which I also loved.

A notorious and controversial low-budget flick, in it's time. Now it's just another 80's slasher. Though, a decent one at that.

A great horror classic. I never understood why it was so contraversial though. A killer Santa Claus goes after a small town.
