Plot: Two friends, Emi Ota and Okiku, have a brief visit at a mountain inn before returning to Tokyo. Emi writes to the inn asking about the very same hairpin and, when she learns it injured a soldier, returns to apologize, setting up a potential romance between the two thanks to some of the long-term visitors to the inn.
