Metallica: Through the Never review

This reviewer owns more than 5 albums (with essentials like Master of Puppets and Black album), have seen them live and collected magazines with the band as a cover. It was frustrating how the core members killed Napster, and yet viewing this film one realizes that there is a point made: technology somewhat hampers art. Not knowing what to expect, this critic reminisces a time when friends, music and hobbies were more important than any gadget or technology. Songs of relationship, death, justice, desire and many more were displayed and symbolized. The music and showmanship were evident from the band, the film aspect was questionable. Never in this raters mind have any doubt about the songs and concert itself; one expects 101% from any given night. This felt like a long music video with a touch of realism in being part of a concert. Seek and Destroy should have been aptly added since it matched some scenes from the movie. This would be grand for newbies or first timers who would see Metallica live especially in this format. If only there was more clarity with the plot or that duffle bag, which clearly shows the bands humor still exists playing with the audiences heads. All in all, a nice experience coupled with realistic effects and great music from a legendary band.
