The Seven Year Itch review
Daniel Corleone - wrote on 04/25/13

"Oh, wouldn't you like to know! Maybe it's Marilyn Monroe! " A story that revolves around an imaginative Richard Sherman (Tom Ewell), the girl (Marilyn Monroe), wife Helen (Evelyn Keyes) and son Ricky (Butch Bernard). Richard's wife and son goes for a vacation while he meets his voluptuous blond neighbor. Well scored, sincere acting and brilliant screenplay. So many quotable lines from Dr. Brubaker - "l strongly advise you to avoid anything so complex. One must learn to walk before one can run." and Richard: "Life can be beautiful, Miss Morris." "Let's go home and enjoy the simple things." and "I love my wife." The Seven Year Itch is somewhat ahead of its time in terms of being a comedy. It relies on probable situations, provocative dialogue and realistic situations on temptations and staying loyal to your partner. The popular white dress being blown by the passing subway is revealed here as well. This particular film is eons better than today's lewd, star studded and nonsensical comedies.
