Easy Rider review

A film not to everyone's liking depending on how one views it. A basic concept of Wyatt and Billy who are two motorcycle riders on the way to Mardi Gras and meets a few estranged people along the way. Earnest and enticing performances from Hopper and Fonda, which keeps the viewer glues to the screen. Great screenplay with lines from the characters: George - "You know, this used to be a helluva good country. I can't understand what's gone wrong with it." "But they see a free individual, it's gonna scare 'em." Wyatt - "It's not every man that can live off the land, you know. You do your own thing in your own time. You should be proud." and "You know Billy, we blew it." The soundtrack was well researched and very enjoyable, direction, locations and cinematography were picturesque. Only minor flaws were the stretched graveyard scene, character history of the leads and lack of purpose for going to Mardi Gras. Easy Rider is still significant and represents the detriments of societies perception, freedom, hard work, family, excess, and having no clear direction life.
