Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides review

Joshamee Gibbs (Kevin McNally) in London, Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) is brought before King George II (Richard Griffiths). Jack meets his imposter and former lover Angelica (Penélope Cruz). Blackbeard (Ian McShane), who practices voodoo magic, is the father of Angelica. The antagonist was uninteresting and Penelope just couldn’t fill the shoes of Knightley’s Elizabeth. Screenplay was decent with one of my favorite lines from the picture is from Angelica – “Every soul can be saved.” Picture’s score was more dramatic because of the action but not enough to keep you engaged. The side story of the mermaid slows the plot of the film and nothing new to offer. In this reviewer’s observation, Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is the weakest of the franchise.
