A well directed film about excess, power and loyalty. Al Pacino is Tony Montana, a Cuban refugee who rose from the tanks. Definitely one of the most popular cult gangster film due to the impact it had for musical artists, video games, books and television spoofs. A young Michelle Pfeiffer as Elvira Hancock was really good in her role. Pacino's performance and accent alone brought the movie to life. The picture not only had stunning camera work, but also its screenplay was effective. One of the many memorable lines from Tony Montana - "In this country, you gotta make the money first. Then when you get the money, you get the power. Then when you get the power, then you get the women." "All I have in this world is my balls and my word, and I don't break 'em for no one." "Say hello to my little friend!" Clearly Scarface is a masterfully crafted picture that represent the adverse effects of greed.
