Maps to the Stars, the new feature from David Cronenberg, is a delicious mess to behold. Populated by barely sympathetic people, it works as a complete biting portrait of how celeb culture really is. The performances are strong all around. Mia Wasikowska is unsurprisingly perfect, but Julliane Moore. Amazing Moore. Gives one of her greatest performances. I hope she receives a nom and win for this, as she is absolutely brilliant. This may not rank up to Cronenberg's best films, but it's never dull, sometimes shocking, darkly hilarious, and deliciously entertaining. (R- contains strong sexuaity, graphic nudity, some disturbing elements, violence, and language.)
