Stardust (2007)

Charming

Comparisons with "The Princess Bride" are understandable but I think this movie is its own. Both films give its audiences a sense of adventure playing upon matters of the heart such as love, courage, vanity, and thirst for power. What I love about this movie is the two leads: Charlie Cox and Claire Danes. Both are really charismatic so one can't help but root for them from beginning to end. The most random (yet funniest) character has got to be Robert De Niro. I didn't think he would be so incredibly funny as a seemingly macho pirate with an intimidating reputation. Irony such as his character and little things in the movie such as background images make this film a gem that deserves to be seen by many. I would watch it again for the second or third time because it's really fun to watch. A better than average fantasy adventure.
