The Big Sleep (1946)

Such an iconic noir - everything is classic, from the beautifully lit black and white cinematography to the slyly written lines. Bogart gives a weathered and rough performance, one of the best of his career. It's easy to forget that a lot of things that are now detective movie cliches were done here first.
