Good for its time, good family / kids movie.

(James Belushi) is a "loose cannon" cop. He has to do everything his own way on his own time and doesn't know the meaning of the word, "team-work" But after he screws up his last bust by buying a car from a car dealer and five minutes later proceeds to crash it into a building where the bad guys are dealing dope, he is assigned a new partner, a dog! To be exact. A rouge German Shepard that wants to be treated more like a person than a dog.
Ok, this movie came out around the same time that Tuner and Hootch came out, hollywood didn't want to stray from the cop genre movies that were doing well, but didn't want to make another buddy cop movie, probably because they couldn't find someone to play opposite of Belushi. There are a lot of people that will tear this movie apart simply because James is no where near as funny or as talented as his brother John was, but as far as a kids movie I think this isn't too bad.
There were some funny scenes, and the person that trained and handled the dog had done a great job in setting things up because it pretty much stole the show. While I don't actively seek out James Belushi's movies, this one isn't his worst, and some people will find it humorous. If anything at all its a good family film.
