Happy Hour (2003)

Bar none

Happy Hour is summed up (or puked out) in the first scene. A man and a woman meet in a bar, then begin a love affair. The woman (Caroleen Feeney) asks the man (Anthony Lapaglia) if he’s a “clichéd writer with a drinking problem.” The answer to that and the question “Is Happy Hour a clichéd movie about alcoholics that’s also boring and painfully unfunny?” is the same – **** yeah. Eric Stolz provides an embarrassing addition to his resume and a colostomy bag puts in an appearance in the middle – both of which, despite enormous potential to induce laughter, in fact, produce dry heaves.
