A Troll in Central Park

Review - A Troll in Central Park (1994)

In a land filled with mean trolls, one little troll named Stanley (Dom DeLuise) has a green thumb and can grow flowers and other pretty things. When the evil Queen Gnorga (Cloris Leachman) finds out, she sends him to New York City in “A Troll in Central Park.”

What happened to Don Bluth? In the 80’s he had the Midas Touch and could turn any cartoon into gold. Somewhere along the line he lost his touch and made this garbage.

Though it obviously had pure intentions, the movie is nothing more than 2-year-old bait for when you don’t feel like paying attention to your kids (which is ironically a message in the movie). It’s almost as if they were going to make a good movie, but they decided to just write the plot points and not connect them in anyway.

“A Troll in Central Park” is one movie I will probably never let my kids watch, provided I have kids one day. I don’t think it’s necessary to insult their intelligence in that way.
